Your Guide to Home Improvement and Contracting
Planning your project can be a stressful process, especially if you are unsure of what to expect. We aim to eliminate as much of this stress as possible by trying to answer as many questions as we can before you reach out to us, making the experience much more enjoyable for you. Have a question you don't see answered here, or want some more explanation? Check our blog posts, or reach out to us and we would be happy to answer any questions you may have!
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we carry Contractor Registration with the State of Iowa as well as Commercial Insurance. You can check our registration here. Our Iowa Registration number is C147941.
What are the first steps to get my project going?
The first steps are the easiest, but they can also be the most overwhelming. If you have a project in mind, whether you are just beginning to think about it and want to gather information, or are ready to get it done, the first step is as simple as reaching out. Once you reach out by text, call, or through our contact form, someone from our team will get in touch with you and get you all the resources and information you may need, including answering any questions you may have. From there, we will schedule an on site consultation to talk about your project in person and get you an estimate. Depending on your project, we may be able to provide an estimate virtually if it is a more comfortable option for you.
What is the full process of a project when working with your team?
Doing a project with us is completed in four simple steps. For a more detailed description, check out our blog on working with us.
1.) Consult - we meet and discuss your project at your property and gather all the detail to provide you with an accurate estimate. Depending on the project, this may also be done virtually.
2.) Design/Prep - Once you decide to move forward, we finalize the project plan and file all required permits and locates. Once the permits are approved, we begin the project. We take care of all the planning including material delivery, scheduling, inspections, and cleanup so you don't have to lift a finger.
3.) Execution - We begin work on the project, including scheduling all necessary inspections. Once the project is complete, we do a thorough cleanup so you don't even remember we were there.
4.) Enjoy - Because we offer turn key solutions, once we leave your property, there is nothing left for you to do except enjoy your new space!
Is our project set in stone once work begins?
For most projects, they are not finalized once work begins. We do daily check in's with you to keep you up to date with progress, as well as let you know when we reach a point that certain aspects can no longer be changed. However, until we reach those milestones on your project, changing the details of the project is as simple as completing a change order.
Do you warranty your work?
We only use products and practices that we will stand behind, which allows us to offer a 10 Year Workmanship warranty on our turn key projects, as well as any applicable material warranties. The details of the Workmanship warranty are listed in our Design/Build Contract. With a guaranteed warranty, you can rest assured that your project will be built to last.
Do you offer just consults, or inspection services?
If you are concerned about something with your home and just want a professional opinion, or just want an opinion on a possible project, we do offer consults and inspections for a small fee. These inspections are usually of a single aspect of your home, such as a deck, siding system, flashing, water management, etc. This involves us coming to your property to learn about your concerns and doing a thorough non-invasive inspection to identify any issues you may have, or talking about your potential project. We can then discuss any issues at the time of the consult or inspection, or create a written report for you to have. After the consult or inspection, you have no obligation for us to perform any work. If you are interested in an inspection, reach out to us and we can provide a prior report.
